Reliable identification to GHS standards
To ensure safety for the handling of chemicals, the United Nations have agreed on a globally harmonised system. In these GHS regulations the classification of chemicals and their identification is harmonised. The changes require that the symbols will be printed in colour in the future. Colour laser printers and multi-colour thermal transfer printers are ideally suited to this task. The larger forms are more difficult to apply and more care needs to be taken when they are stuck down. On the other hand, the elimination of the orange bar and pre-printed hazardous goods labels reduces the number of different types of labels that are required.
S+P Samson GmbH has optimised its portfolio for GHS according to the suitability of specific materials for colour printing systems. For toner-based systems (laser printers) there are particular surfaces which ensure true colour rendering. The excellent feed properties ensure problem-free processing, even with high-performance printers. Special finishes provide scratch-resistant fixing for mixed colour ribbons (thermal transfer).
Your benefits at a glance:
- Extremely robust and UV-resistant
- Strong adhesion, yet can be removed without residue, if required
- Perfect adhesion to difficult surfaces
- Suitable for (colour) laser and thermal transfer printers
- Sea-water resistant to BS5609
- Resistant to high temperatures and, therefore, suitable for hot filling
Individual and flexible
S+P labels can be optimised for easy handling using different types of slits. Slits in the backing paper allow the "wallpapering" of labels - removing part of the backing paper for sticking along the sides. As with wallpapering, the rest is then peeled off and smoothed out at the same time. The result is reduced creasing, even for untrained users.
